History McLaren, a classic British company, originated from the McLaren Racing team in 1989 and made an unforgettable entrance into the automotive world with its very first car: the legendary F1. This iconic vehicle continues to captivate the hearts of car enthusiasts worldwide to this day.
After a quieter period, McLaren returned to the scene with the SLR, developed in collaboration with Mercedes-Benz. Following another hiatus, McLaren embarked on a new chapter, regularly unveiling self-developed and meticulously designed sports cars.
McLaren’s vehicles are categorized into different classes, with the 570S serving as the entry-level model. Its successor, the Artura, briefly placed McLaren in financial difficulties when the British government declined to grant the company a loan. However, Bahrain’s national bank stepped in to support the automaker.
Today, the once-traditional British company is fully owned by financial backers in Bahrain. Thanks to this infusion of capital, we can look forward to more incredible vehicles from McLaren in the coming years. Among them is the recently unveiled W1, poised to carry McLaren’s hypercar legacy into the next generation.

Build your brand! In modern automotive design, great emphasis is placed on brand recognition and further developing it. Elements of the logo and the overall brand identity are increasingly being incorporated into modern car design.
McLaren does this a subtle and elegant approach. This is particularly noticeable in the 570S, where the headlights and taillights echo the distinctive forward-sweeping curve of the McLaren logo.
These design elements not only embed McLaren’s brand identity in the minds of observers but also lend the vehicle an extraordinary sense of dynamism.
In fact, this shape significantly influences the entire rear of the 570S and transitions seamlessly into the side profile, where it integrates the „Floating Door Tendon“ system.
This innovative feature optimizes airflow around the vehicle, combining form and function in true McLaren fashion.

Sport Series. The McLaren 570S is undoubtedly sporty! However, after capturing the hearts of sports car fans with the Ultimate and Super Series, McLaren aimed to break into a more competitive price segment with the 570S. So, moving away from hypercars and supercars, they introduced a true sports car.
Despite the name, the 570S—the smaller sibling of the 650S—has been optimized for driving comfort and everyday usability to create a stunning daily driver. Being a huge fan of McLaren’s design myself, I opted for a very minimalist color series to let the simple, elegant, yet exceptionally sporty design shine.

24! The Porsche 911 GT1 was not only used in 24-hour races but was also built 24 times for homologation purposes. In fact, 25 units would have been necessary, but the FIA was lenient, allowing the GT1 to compete. However, despite bearing the 911 name and having a road version, the GT1 is not considered a “true 911” by most Porsche enthusiasts, unlike its sibling models, the GT2 and GT3. This is because it only shared a few individual parts with a standard 911 and was otherwise significantly different.
In any case, with only 24 units built, the GT1 is regarded as one of the top 5 rarest Porsche models of all time.

Lucky Victory.
In 1997, the Stuttgart-based competitor Mercedes-Benz practically overwhelmed the motorsport world with its CLK GTR, winning almost at will. Porsche had to respond and optimized the GT1 with the adjustments mentioned in the previous post. Additionally, for the first time in Porsche’s history, a carbon-fiber chassis was used. Unfortunately, even with around 550 horsepower, it wasn’t enough to secure the championship.
However, due to its high reliability, Porsche managed an impressive feat on their third attempt at Le Mans, prevailing over the significantly more powerful but also less reliable Toyotas to clinch the title with the new GT1.

All good things come in threes!
In 1996, Porsche entered the newly constructed 996 GT1 in the 24 Hours of Le Mans with the ambitious goal of winning. I had already portrayed one of these first GT1 vehicles here a few years ago.
However, neither the debut nor the following year brought Porsche the success they were striving for. So, for 1998, they made some modifications, including internally ventilated carbon-ceramic brakes and a much more aerodynamically efficient body.
After a nerve-wracking race, the brand-new, optimized GT1 with starting number 26 clinched the victory, securing Porsche’s 16th overall win at the Le Mans race!
I’d like to introduce you to this fantastic vehicle in this new series.

Those Details! Arguably, the most beautiful view of a Porsche 911 is from the rear. Here, you can truly appreciate the incredible detailing work with the mud. Keep in mind, this is a refined 1:18 scale model! It’s not just the sandy texture that’s perfectly captured; there are even various states of mud: older, dried patches layered with newer, damp splashes. Also visible are the scuff marks on the fender, from where someone repeatedly brushed against the car with their pants during a busy session. You can even spot details like handprints and clean spots at the entry points and around the door handle.

Realism. Once again, for my latest book, I had the honor of receiving support from Jochen Kieslich (@cmcminiaturesfinishline). With painstaking artistic precision, he took on the legendary model I’ve showcased in my latest posts.
The level of detail he achieved is once again unmatched. Using various images of the original vehicle that we managed to get our hands on, he meticulously recreated the condition of the car as it would have looked at the end of a grueling stage.
In reality, the previous day’s dirt was always washed off by the crew. However, snow and mud still made for typical back-breaking work for the drivers in the French Alps.
Enjoy the fantastic finish line scene with the Porsche 911 T/R driven by Vic Elford at the 1968 Monte Carlo Rally!

Alpine vs. Porsche
At that time, the new Alpines were nearly unbeatable, and the »Blue Riders« set one best time after another.
However all Alpines eventually were injured and out of the race with Gérard Larousse crashing his at the famous »Col de Turini«.
With the Alpine out of the race, the path was clear for the first double victory in the history of the Stuttgart sports car manufacturer: Quick Vic and Stone won with a 1:16 minute lead over their teammates Toivonen and Tinkkanen.

May the fastest win!
1968 was the first year that the so-called »Handicap Rule,« which allowed lower-powered vehicles a chance at victory through a complex system, was implemented. This paved the way for faster and more spectacular driving action. So, the fastest would win.
Following his defeat in 1967, Vic »Quick Vic« Elford needed no second invitation. Porsche sent two teams to the race: the aforementioned Vic Elford at the wheel with David Stone as co-driver, and Pauli Toivonen, who had already won the Monte in 1966, with Martti Tinkkanen.

1968
marks a significant milestone: The duo of Vic Elford and David Stone clinch the first prestigious victory that Porsche had long sought for the 911, driving a 911T/R.
And it was just the beginning. For three consecutive times, the new 911s (albeit in the more powerful S version) manage to secure overall victory. Unfortunately, in 1971, Porsche made a misstep by placing its bets on the wrong horse, quite literally, with the 914/6, failing to complete the quartet.

John Cooper Works!
As already mentioned, John Cooper was instrumental in the success of the Mini in the 1950s, recognizing the potential of the small car, identifying its weaknesses, optimizing them, and significantly increasing its performance. The Mini tuner, John Cooper Works (JCW), is based on this legacy and was founded in 2002 by John’s son, Michael. Since 2008, the rights have officially belonged to BMW, giving JCW the same prestigious status as BMW M or AMG.
The models are distinguished not only by visual but, more importantly, by performance tuning.
For me, it’s a stroke of genius by the Mini designers, especially in this aspect: the Union Jack in the taillights. When I first saw this detail, I immediately smiled, appreciating how they managed to infuse the light design with meaning and history.

The Classic Mini
also featured a classic color scheme. The white roof and matching racing stripes were a nod to the rally models that once shook up the Monte Carlo races. In 1964 and 1965, the small British cars won back-to-back victories. 1966 could have been another successful year, but unfortunately, they were disqualified due to last-minute rule changes. However, they bounced back in 1967, claiming victory once again and shaking up the rally world. From 1968, the regulations changed, and more powerful cars began to dominate.
The classic British Racing Green perfectly complements our model. In the background, by the way, you can see a 1/12 scale model from Schuco, which explains the somewhat unusual size difference.

Legendary Concept. A half-Greek, half-German man named Alec Issigonis, who lived in England, worked for the British Motor Corporation, or BMC for short. During times of crisis, he came up with the concept of a fuel-efficient small car that would go on to have a lasting impact on the world and change the way the automotive industry thought. He invented the Mini! The concept of the tiny cube was so well received by his colleague John Cooper that he took the Mini under his wing and gave it all sorts of sporty modifications. The concept was particularly successful at the Monte Carlo Rally. But that’s another story.
Today, we are focusing on the anniversary edition for the 60th birthday: the Mini 60 Years Edition.
This beautifully British racing green-painted vehicle was brought to the market by Ottomobile exclusively for dealers, and it cannot be purchased through their website. A big thank you to the team at Ottomobile for the wonderful opportunity to showcase this fantastic model!

Rare Classic with an „Ironing Board.“ The first-generation 996 GT3 was produced only 1,868 times and, to Porsche’s surprise, became a success story. It’s hard to believe that the first generation hit the market 25 years ago and will officially qualify as a classic car in just five years. The revised model, released four years later, was produced a bit more optimistically, with 2,589 vehicles, and still offers state-of-the-art driving enjoyment, especially in terms of performance.
What has always fascinated me about the second generation is the flat rear spoiler, often referred to as the „ironing board.“ Seeing it in the rearview mirror still delights me today and makes the second generation of the GT3 one of my absolute favorites.

Revised. The second generation underwent extensive revisions. Visually, the most notable changes were the new headlights borrowed from the Turbo, the now straight rear spoiler, and the new 10-spoke wheels. The price also increased to just under €103,000 – which from today’s perspective on GT3 pricing seems almost like a bargain. In return, however, you got a significantly improved vehicle compared to its predecessor. Acceleration, driving dynamics, and handling were especially optimized.
Aside from the RS (or Clubsport) models, the 996 GT3 MkII is still considered by many Porsche purists to be the ultimate road car for the racetrack, offering the most driving enjoyment because, without most of the modern assistance systems, it still demands a lot of driving skill.

Modern Classic! Recently, I had already featured a Porsche 996 and mentioned that the 996 is still one of my absolute favorite series. And by far the most spectacular model was the first GT3 ever made!
However, the second generation, which is also based on the 996, is actually much more beautiful: the GT3 mkII, which is my focus today.
Although it wasn’t launched until 2003 and no longer had much in common with the first generation from 1999 in terms of appearance, I am dedicating a series to this model in the style of Porsche photography from the 90s. In fact, the brochure was still designed in the style of the early 996 models and relied on a 90s tone-on-tone aesthetic. This only changed with the 997 generation, when the vehicles were mostly shown in black-and-white landscapes.
In any case, I am fascinated by this type of photography, and I want to bring the legendary 996 GT3 mkII back to life in color!
Can you guess what color the model actually is?
By the way, the series is more or less completely unretouched and was created just like this in the studio.

Breaking Through.
What vehicle is better suited to break through roadblocks than the legendary Mercedes-Maybach G650 Landaulet? This impressive vehicle, standing at a height of 2.24 meters and a total length of 5.35 meters, is the first off-road Maybach. And this beast comes with a hefty price tag! For €749,700, you get 3.3 tons of (mostly) pure luxury and performance. Not only does it boast impressive dimensions and cost, but it also packs a 6.0-liter V12 engine with 52.5 horsepower per cylinder, totaling 630 horses.
Thanks to its now-rare portal axles, the Landaulet is naturally well-suited for off-road driving, effortlessly tackling rough terrain—and, of course, the roadblock we’ve set up here.
But more on this car in the future, as I’m sure I’ll dedicate an entire series to it.

Taxi, Fire Department, Police!
The Crown Victoria was introduced in 1992. Its primary purpose was to provide fleet customers with a practical, easy-to-repair vehicle. For example, the entire front end, including the engine and axle, could be replaced in no time. This was especially useful if damage from a high-speed chase needed to be quickly fixed. The original 202 horsepower was increased to as much as 239 horsepower, depending on the model and its intended use. This was enough power to catch, let’s say, the Nissan in this picture, the Ferrari from the last one, or even other high-performance vehicles like Bugattis in no time at all.

Mighty Crown Victoria!
A while ago, @mr.grooves_photography asked me to create a police-themed series. Unfortunately, it took quite some time until I found a suitable police vehicle to put together a good Need for Speed series. Anyone who has ever played a part of the NfS series probably knows that feeling of disbelief when you’re about to win a race in your F40, only to be overtaken and eventually kicked out the race by a Ford Crown Victoria. These Crowns are simply unstoppable!
That’s why, in this new series, I’m letting different vehicles go head-to-head against the almighty police. Enjoy!

Between two worlds: Air and water!
My personal favorite Turbo: the 996! Still the most unloved generation of the 911, it is actually one of the most significant as it marked the switch from air-cooled to water-cooled engines. As unpopular as the so-called “fried egg headlights” were, the Turbo received a redesign and looked worthy of a Turbo with its elegant spoiler and wider wheel arches! Finally, an apology: I initially said I would show the first three generations, but I left out the 964 Turbo because I only had three posts, and I preferred the 993 😂

The GOAT!
The Porsche 993 is still considered the best Porsche of all time. The last air-cooled generation not only impressed with its driving capabilities but also with its design, being both robust and elegant. It marks a milestone in the history of the Stuttgart automaker.
The flagship of this generation was released in 1995 and, like the 930 before it, the 993 Turbo could be ordered from the factory with two additional power levels. The distinctive feature of this generation was the intercoolers of the two turbos, which provided a more consistent power delivery and countered the classic „turbo lag.“ Another significant feature was that the 993 Turbo was equipped with permanent all-wheel drive, which greatly improved stability given the enormous 408 horsepower in the „standard version“ and made the Turbo more suitable for everyday use.

50 Years of Turbo!
In recent years, Porsche has celebrated several anniversaries. Following the 75th anniversary of the brand itself and the 50th anniversary of the 2.7 RS, this year marks the anniversary of the brand’s former flagship model, which was presented in its final production version in October 1974: the Turbo!
Just in time for the anniversary, Porsche is utilizing the classic tartan pattern of the original 930 for a whole range of accessories. My choice fell on the new „Palermo Tartan White“ sneakers by Puma which will be presenting at least the first three generation of the icon!
Happy Birthday to the dream car of my youth!

Brand new 80s icon.
The icon of the 80s, specifically from the year 1989, can now be brought home in a 1:18 scale. As always, Solido has paid great attention to detail and has chosen a wonderful „Bleu Lumiere“ paint for the model, in addition to the classic decals. The Mk1, with its distinctive anthracite plastic side skirts, is also available in red.
In my opinion, it’s a beautiful model that I had to take out of the box and bring straight to the set.

Hot!
The R5 GT Turbo had a major issue with the heat development of the turbocharger, and so Renault came up with a better cooling solution using air vents and widened wheel arches painted in the car’s color. This made the already popular design of the R5 even sportier and higher quality in the GT Turbo. Fundamentally, the R5 was especially popular because it was both city-friendly and race-ready, and as mentioned earlier, the GT Turbo was even the fastest compact car of its time. The design combined functionality and aesthetics, making it one of the most iconic hot hatch models of the 1980s.

LegendaRy
The R5 is already a legendary vehicle that was produced for 24 years due to its popularity, and it featured nearly 30 different engine configurations across various models.
The R5 GT Turbo, however, (alongside the legendary Renault 5 Turbo, which revolutionized the rally landscape, of course) is very special model that added a further superlative to Renault’s achievements: With an output of 115 horsepower and a curb weight of only 822 kg, it was for a long time the fastest production small car ever built, boasting a top speed of 201 km/h.

SLS Trivia
As a big fan of TopGear and The Grand Tour, a sharp remark from Jeremy Clarkson immediately comes to mind: The SLS AMG is not only a death trap because of its gullwing doors if you roll over, but to get out of the vehicle, Mercedes will also blow you up (the hinges are fitted with explosive bolts that fire when the car is upside down). Nonetheless, he referred to the SLS as his „new favouritest car in the whole wide world.“
The SLS was also used as a Safety Car in Formula 1 for quite a long time.
As a final piece of trivia, I’d like to mention Transformers 3, where the Decepticon „Soundwave“ can transform into an SLS AMG.

Super Light Sport.
The SLS AMG is the direct successor to the legendary 300SL. Visually, AMG, who developed the vehicle entirely on their own, has drawn heavily from this iconic model that shaped Mercedes-Benz. As mentioned in the last post, designer Mark Fetherston achieved something that, in my view, Mercedes has never matched before or since.
The design perfectly captures the form of the original, incorporating its distinctive features while still creating a unique design that, even after 14 years, remains modern. Especially considering how Mercedes models looked at the time (I recall the E-Class (W212) with its split, angular headlights, or the sportier SLK (R171) with the Formula 1-style nose), the SLS was not only groundbreaking but revolutionary with its large grille, which soon found its way into the broader product range of the Stuttgart automaker.

Stars ’n Stripes.
Shout out to the U.S.A. What brand could be more perfect for a Stars ’n Stripes concept than the one with the star that actually invented the car? I chose a model which I believe is probably the most beautiful Merc ever designed. I am absolutely in love with its perfect proportions, its curves, and its straight lines. From a design perspective, every detail is precisely where it should be. It not only evokes a sense of nostalgia for the glorious past of Mercedes-Benz but also provides the perfect push for its future design language.

**Giulia.**
For several years now, Alfa Romeo has been following a strategy to revive the history and tradition of the brand. The brand, which already evokes emotions through its design alone (at Top Gear, you even had to pay a fee if you dared to use the word „emotion“ in a review of the brand), aims to reference its golden era and create timeless models.
Back in the 1960s, there was an extremely successful four-door sedan named Giulia, which was built from 1962 to 1977. To reference this four-door heritage, the decision was made to revive the legendary Giulia instead of the previously used three-digit numerical combinations.
Thus, the name „Giulia“ reflects all these aspects and combines historical significance with contemporary elegance.

Racing in the Blood
Alfa Romeo is a brand that inherently stands for emotion and a certain sharpness. The Giulia embodies these qualities par excellence. However, with the GTAm version, they perfected their product portfolio with a purebred sports car. By removing the rear seats and some comfort elements, the weight was reduced by over 100 kg, significantly increasing performance. Due to its limited edition and resulting rarity, the GTAm is a sought-after collector’s item for track days!

I haven’t witnessed such a dramatic and unpredictable race with the weather going ham, accidents and strategic masterpieces and failures.
Congratulations especially to Ferrari for defending their last years victory overall and winning the Hypercar series as well.
Also of course the other winners:
United Autosports in LMP2
Manthey in GT3
Looking forward to next years race already!

The driver change system
at the 24 Hours of Le Mans is an essential part of the race, designed to reduce driver fatigue and ensure maximum performance. Each team typically consists of three drivers who take turns during the race.
These changes are tactically planned and depend on various factors, such as the drivers‘ physical condition, the duration of the race, and the team’s strategy. Regular driver changes allow the drivers to remain focused and efficient throughout the entire race duration. Last night Timo Bernhard said that he might take a nap now and then but always has to be focused so he won’t sleep. Also the whole crew has to be focused and is also staying awake for these exhausting 24 hours!

Le Mans!
Today marks the start of the 2024 edition of the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans. Since I’ve been posting Le Mans models more frequently lately, I don’t want to miss the opportunity to launch a special series this weekend.
There has been speculation that this year might be the most exciting race of all time, with not only Ferrari looking to defend their title but also Porsche aiming to finally bring home an overall victory. And as if that weren’t exciting enough, eight major manufacturers are fielding title contenders in the Hypercar class.
The model I’ve chosen is particularly special to me, not only because I love the livery, but also because it has been personally signed by Timo Bernhard on the left rear fender. I wish all teams the best of luck and look forward to 24 thrilling hours.

1988
was a year full of exciting races and impressive vehicles. At the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Jaguar achieved a historic victory with the XJR-9, while in the DTM, cars like the BMW M3 E30 and the Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.3-16 provided thrilling duels. These vehicles and the associated races have left a lasting impression in the motorsport world to this day.
Another milestone that was significant for the future of motorsport was: It was the last year of turbo engines in Formula 1. From 1989 onwards, these were banned, and teams had to switch to naturally aspirated engines. This led to significant changes in the design and development of racing cars in general.
Technological development in areas such as aerodynamics, engine performance, and chassis technology was particularly intense this year, laying the foundation for many innovations in the following years.

Legendary Status.
While the first season of the C9 was marked primarily by race retirements, the often impressive qualifying results hinted at what was yet to come. The 1988 season showed significant improvement with a 2nd place finish in the World Sportscar Championship, and with a new partner, the team was officially named Sauber-Mercedes.
However, 1989 was to be the golden year for the C9, where Sauber-Mercedes achieved nearly everything: seven victories in eight races, the second highest speed ever recorded on the legendary Le Mans circuit, and the not-so-surprising double victory for the C9 with Jochen Mass, Manuel Reuter, and Stanley Dickens in the first-place car, and Mauro Baldi, Kenny Acheson, and Gianfranco Brancatelli in the second-place car. The third C9 even secured fifth place.
According to legends, there were even rumors that rival teams threatened to withdraw from the following season if Sauber-Mercedes‘ dominance continued to be so overwhelming.

The smell of victory!
Right on time for the end of the 1987 season, Sauber’s long-standing deal with Kouros came to an end, and a new groundbreaking deal was still in its infancy. Therefore, Sauber decided to present the C9 for the upcoming season in a beautiful livery of white and a blue stripe on glossy black.
This very beautiful livery adorns the fantastic model by Exoto, which is relatively rare and sought after today due to its limited edition of only 1,988 units.

Last mad one…
Sorry for the huge delay. The past weeks have been very busy, and even though the post was finished a long time ago, I couldn’t find the time to finalize it. In the meantime, I also watched Furiosa and think it’s a great prequel to the last official part. Next one will be quicker, I promise.

Low Budget.
The budget for the first Mad Max film was so low that Max’s V8 Pursuit Special (Ford Falcon XB GT Coupe, 1973) was supposed to be sold after production ended. Fortunately, they decided against it, allowing the vehicle to hunt again in Mad Max II – The Road Warrior.
The fantastic set from AUTOart includes both vehicles and additional add-ons such as chains and oil cans. Since the films are all action-packed spectacles, I decided to leave out the details and focus solely on the action in the series.

Tomorrow, the latest installment of the Mad Max saga: Furiosa, premieres in our theaters. Since I obviously have no idea what it’s about, but I’m incredibly excited to see the film, I took the liberty of showcasing my Mad Max 2 Road Warrior Interceptor/Enemy Car set along with my rusty skull and preparing a small series that I would like to post as a homage to Furiosa.
By the way: EVERYBODY answering to my story with the behind the scene pictures was absolutely right about the topic.
Enjoy!

Angles
As a last picture of the series I wanted to share the angle I love most for most 911. The rear end of a Porsche is not only the view most people see but also the most impressive if you compare all generations. Also for the 997 Porsche brought back what was missed for the fifth generation: wide hips!
To give the interior image some context: I remember my first time in a 997 and appreciating the new quality, as the 996, with its coarse carpet extending high into the door panels and excessive plastic, appeared rather cheap. However, I was quite puzzled by the absurd number of cupholders. There were two cupholders above the glove compartment that could be pulled out by pressing them. If I remember correctly, there were also cupholders in the doors and between the seats, allowing two people to comfortably enjoy the ride with six drinks you would take in a sports cars without a doubt.

S
The „S“ has always represented the enhancement of the base model at Porsche. The 997 Carrera S received a 3.8-liter engine instead of the 3.6-liter engine of the standard Carrera. This upgrade provided it with 355 horsepower compared to the 325 horsepower of the base model. Additionally, the rear of the S model looked significantly sportier with its four exhaust pipes compared to the classic two exhaust pipes.
The model I photographed in GT Silver also features the optional ceramic brake discs (Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake or PCCB), recognizable by their distinctive yellow coating.
The striking 19-inch wheels, nicknamed „Lobster Wheels“ due to their design reminiscent of lobster claws, were the standard wheels for the S model. Porsche chose these wheels for the sportier version because they were the lightest 19-inch wheels in their portfolio at the time (even lighter than the Turbo or GT3 wheels).

The Sixth Generation.
The Porsche 997 is one of my favorite models. Not quite as controversial as the 996, but also not as groundbreaking (the 996 marked the end of the air-cooled era). In terms of design, Porsche reconnected with earlier generations, rounding off the headlights again and improving the quality, especially in the interior.
At the rear, the taillights were mirrored to make the rear, similar to the 996, appear sportier.
Unlike its predecessor, however, the 997 is still appreciated and loved today for its driving dynamics and the successful combination of modern technology and timeless design.

True to the original.
Once again, I must highlight the attention to detail and fidelity to the original by Jochen Kieslich. In this last post about the 1995 F40 LM, I have attached two original pictures where you can clearly see the black tape and also the peeled-off logo on the windshield, which was replicated on the model.
I am a big fan and more pictures of JK Finish Line models will definitely follow.

Modifications.
Looking at the facts of the last supercar that Enzo Ferrari personally supervised, one might think that there isn’t much more that could be optimized for racing. But that assumption is far from the truth. Michelotto simply removed the already spartan interior of the F40 almost completely. More aggressive spoilers were installed at the front and rear, the body was widened, and its heart, a 2.9-liter V8, was equipped with two larger turbochargers at 2.6 bar each, achieving about 720 horsepower in this vehicle. Consequently, significantly larger brakes and a racing gearbox were necessary.
A unique aspect of this specific Ferrari is that the pilot F40, which competed in Le Mans in both 1995 and 1996 and is thus the most successful F40 of all time, was the third F40 ever produced—a prototype used internally to further optimize the production vehicles.

F40 LM
Although the Ferrari F40 is unanimously regarded by experts as one of the greatest, if not the greatest, sports cars of all time, Ferrari originally did not intend for the vehicle to be used in motorsports. However, it quickly became clear that due to its lightweight construction, powerful engine, and outstanding handling, the F40 could be an ideal basis for a successful race car. Consequently, Michelotto from Padua was commissioned to build a small series of 19 vehicles for use in endurance racing. These beasts, some with up to 1000 horsepower, were fittingly equipped with the suffix „LM“.
One of these vehicles, the F40LM, which competed in the 1995 24 Hours of Le Mans and finished in 12th place overall, was taken on by none other than @cmcminiaturesfinishline, who has created a masterpiece of unique beauty. Unfortunately, the model is not in my collection but is only on loan, as I absolutely wanted to showcase this beautiful racer.

Old vs. New.
The number 40 holds great significance for the Ford GT. While in the original Ford GT the addition of „40“ represented the vehicle’s height in inches, this designation was omitted in the 2004 reissue as the vehicle was 3 inches taller (which, of course, still posed considerable effort for less agile drivers to enter). In the 1960s, the clear objective was to beat Ferrari at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, but 40 years later (yes, the reissue was launched exactly after 40 years), Le Mans was no longer as attractive to Ford, and the focus shifted to competing against the best sports cars, not racing cars, in the world. Indeed, by critics the vehicle was compared to cars like the Ferrari 360 Modena.
The relaunch of the Ford GT was part of the „Living Legends“ series, where Ford revived its most famous dream cars in new splendor for the brands 100th birthday.
Thus, it is evident that Ford continues to place a great emphasis on history, which is also reflected in numerous special editions with liveries in the style of the successful Ford GT40 era.
The AUTOart model features one of these liveries and impresses with wonderful details and a perfect, clear coat of paint.
There is probably no need to mention the exquisit quality of the mighty GT40 by Exoto.

The best reinterpretation of all time.
When Ford unveiled the „new“ Ford GT in 2004, I was completely captivated and instantly fell in love with the design. Rarely has an automotive manufacturer succeeded in skillfully transitioning a legendary design into the modern era. But, from my perspective, Ford has truly outdone themselves here. For the comparison, I’ve opted for the Homage Edition commemorating the legendary Le Mans victory, featuring black with silver racing stripes and golden rims. Especially at the rear, it becomes clear how perfectly form and function have been translated with a deep reverence for the original.
In my opinion, it’s the most successful reinterpretation of a classic ever, one that still makes my heart race whenever I see it.

Today is the day for Star Wars fans! To celebrate May 4th, I’ve juxtaposed two of the most beautiful cars of all time: Ford GT vs. Ford GT40! Analogous to the saga, the newcomer is just beginning to approach the dark side, while the Bad Ass already has some battle scars to show.

Drive 4 Paul…
When Fast and Furious started 23 years ago, Universal could hardly have imagined the success the franchise would later achieve. But the film made an impact not only in cinemas but also on the streets and in the tuning culture. People replicated the vehicles, met for street races, and embraced the culture introduced by the film. The tragic death of the charismatic lead actor, Paul Walker, was particularly poignant. However, Walker was much more than just the lead actor in the initial films.
He also felt compelled to do good. For example, he founded ROWW (Reach Out WorldWide) to help people after the disaster in Haiti in 2010. So the „DRIVE 4 PAUL“ lettering on the rear window of the RWB Martini is not just for show; it represents a charity event that brings together these two worlds Paul Walker was a part of: it connects car enthusiasts, celebrates car culture, and, most importantly, supports Paul Walker’s legacy through ROWW, ultimately aiding all people in need. So if „Drive 4 Paul“ comes your way: Go out and Drive for Paul!

Famous Stripes.
Martini Racing sponsorship began in 1962. However, initially, it lacked the distinctive livery and only featured a „Martini & Rossi Racing Team“ sticker. It was not until 1968 that a German team, consisting of the PR manager of Martini Germany, Paul Goppert, and the Opel racing driver Hans-Dieter Dechent, placed the brand prominently on a Porsche 910. A few years later, in 1970, Hans-Dieter Dechent would go on to establish the „International Martini Racing Team“ and significantly contribute to the brand’s major breakthrough in motorsport. The following year saw the collaboration with Porsche. The great successes at Le Mans (Martini-sponsored vehicles won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1971, 1976, and 1977) had indelibly etched the livery into the memories of racing fans.

Martini please!
This week, I want to start with a livery design that is an indelible part of racing history: the Martini Livery! In its classic color scheme, one brand comes to mind when you think of Martini Racing: Porsche! Of course, the legendary Porsche tuner RWB also takes the opportunity to create a tribute to the iconic livery.
With beautiful details and, in my opinion, very high-quality execution, the whole thing is produced in a 1:18 scale by Solido.

Sleepy Eyes.
A design element that Ferrari often used was pop-up headlights. Especially in sports cars, it naturally makes sense to pay close attention to aerodynamics. In the important American market, the aerodynamic glass covers for headlights that Ferrari used to employ were prohibited for safety reasons. Thus, Ferraris equipped with these could not be driven in the American market. To favor aerodynamics, they resorted to a trick that had spilled over from aircraft technology to automobiles since the 1930s. However, the problem with pop-up headlights is that, when extended, they significantly worsen aerodynamics.
While this probably wasn’t a major issue in the 1970s, a second problem with this technology might be somewhat annoying today: with the headlights retracted, one unfortunately cannot flash the high beams at a slowly moving vehicle while sitting in a fast and sporty Ferrari. But in return, one drives one of the most beautiful vehicles in Ferrari’s history.

Big Sister.
The model designation 308 describes a combination of the engine displacement (3.0) and the number of cylinders (8). The visual similarity of the 308 GTB to the Dino 246 GTS (especially the side line and the rear section) is not merely coincidental. This is because the 308 is based on the chassis of the Dino and even uses the mid-engine of the Dino 308 GT (which the model designation suggests, as mentioned earlier).
Thanks to its sleek design and high performance of 227 horsepower, the 308 series quickly brought Ferrari great success and was to last for 10 years.

For the weekend, I want to share a series that this time follows no specific concept but simply showcases the beauty of one of what I consider to be the most beautiful Ferraris of all time: the 308 GTB. Villeneuve.
In this final race of the 1979 season, Villeneuve surprised and convinced everyone with his performance on a rain-soaked track, proving that the Canadian driver harbored great talent. Despite his outstanding performance at Watkins Glen, he ultimately finished second in the World Championship behind his teammate Jody Scheckter.
The driver, who competed in 66 of his 67 Formula 1 races behind the steeringwheel of a Ferrari, tragically lost his life three years later during the qualifying round for the Belgian Grand Prix, leaving behind his then eleven-year-old son Jacques, who would himself become the world champion of the premier class of motorsport fifteen years later, after a fiercely contested season against the then ‚King of Rain‘.

Rain falling from above.
The second image in the Gilles Villeneuve series is my absolute favorite. I have long wanted to make a top-down rain shot. The starting grid from above is a very well-known motif in Formula 1. For me, this model is particularly significant because Villeneuve started the race from the third position on that Sunday in 1979. Somewhat frustrated that he did not start from pole position, Villeneuve had a dream start and took the lead after the first corner. The final result underscored his strength on wet roads, as he crossed the finish line a whole 11 seconds ahead of his second-placed teammate, Scheckter.

Rain.
It ranks among the greatest challenges for racers—what am I saying, for ALL DRIVERS—to control their vehicle on wet roads. Unlike us regular drivers, Formula 1 racers face a significantly higher risk. Especially in 1979, this risk was enormous. In the history of Formula 1, only a few drivers managed to lead clearly or even dominate on wet tracks. One of these rain masters was Gilles Villeneuve, who often outclassed the rest of the field.
To honor this F1 legend, I chose one of the most impressive historical Formula models from Exoto and staged it in its wet domain. Enjoy the new rain series for this rainy spring!

Details.
What the engineers constructed with the CLK GTR/LM in just 128 days was nothing less than an impossible feat. The FIA granted an exception that allowed Mercedes to submit a competition car for GT1 series, that only needed to have 25 built (not even sold) street vehicles for homologation purposes. Hence, they had free rein and built a crazy dream around a V12 mid-engine with about 600 horsepower, and for the LM, a V8 that was primarily shorter and lighter.
The result was a super sports car that, in my view, was beautifully elegant in a way that has not been matched since.
As announced in the last post, you will now find some detail images of the equally beautiful scale model. Of course, it comes from AUTOart, but also from a time when details as usual today were not really possible. Therefore, the plastic parts are a bit coarser, yet, for me, the model loses none of its mystique.
I hope you enjoyed the series. The next series will again combine road and racetrack.

Le Mans
Despite the dominant success in the championship, it was ironically the results at the prestigious and important 24 Hours of Le Mans that were disastrous for Mercedes, as both vehicles were forced to retire due to water pump damage in laps 19 and 31. Additionally, a correction: in the last post, I referred to the vehicle as the CLK GTR, whereas this model is actually the further development, the CLK LM, whose differences primarily lie in the significantly flatter front section which allowed for the placement of openings to cool the radiator on the left and right of the front hood. These actually channeled air through ducts in the doors. This detail can be seen in the detailed images of the last post of the series.

Legend of the 90s.
Today, I’ll take you on a journey to my childhood. The dream of every motorsport fan in the late 90s was undoubtedly the Mercedes CLK GTR. Okay, maybe the Ferrari F40, McLaren F1, and of course, the Porsche GT1 were also on the dream car list of that era. However, despite its name, the CLK GTR didn’t have much in common with its road model - except for the taillights. Probably that’s precisely why this sleek machine dominated the championship in 1998, winning almost all the races. By the way, the model comes from AUTOart. But more on that in the following posts.

Melt in your mouth, not in your hands!
Red! It’s hard to believe, but in 1976, the decision was made to remove the red M&M’s from the packages because there was a discussion about the red dye used at the time. However, after protests and many requests from fans, Red was re-introduced into the colorful family in 1987, this time using beetroot as a controversy-free dye. Orange, by the way, was introduced as a replacement for Red in the same year. The only constant in this group, of course, is the ever-popular Yellow, which, with its color, also symbolizes the best-selling variety with a peanut core.
The headline? Oh yes I almost forgot: The trick basically is to cover the chocolate in sugar, so it won’t melt before eating even if its hot outside. That was the first promise of the brand which still is in place.
Now it’s time for the weekend, and I wish you all a lot of colorful fun!

Brilliant marketing.
Few companies have managed to establish mascots as successfully as Mars Wrigley with their M&M’s. Since 1954, the delicious, colorful chocolate lentils have been given arms, legs, and a face, representing the inner values of the various flavors with different fillings.
Moreover, the charismatic characters shine in commercials that always impress with a lot of humor, self-irony, and a wink. Even with the latest advertising „Meet the Family,“ M&M’s tackles the issues of inclusion and diversity with a lot of humor.
My personal favorite ever since is Orange. I absolutely love its humor and can clearly identify with its clumsiness and the cute face expression. Jada also gave it a super cool car.
Reason enough to give a little wink in this... oops, did I do that?

Successes.
Unfortunately, the hoped-for sporting successes for the 963 did not materialize in its debut year 2023. The annoying failure of number 75 in Le Mans, two third places in Portugal and Japan, as well as a third place in the manufacturers‘ overall standings led to disappointment in Stuttgart.
2024 started better with Porsche’s first overall Daytona victory since 2003 and the overall victory at the 1812-km race in Qatar.
But isn’t the popular LMDh class beloved precisely for testing technologies in the hardest way possible that will later find their way into production vehicles? So, let’s see what conclusions Porsche draws from the successes and failures of what I consider the most beautiful racing car of recent years.

Le Mans Daytona hybrid.
The prerequisites for participating in the races of the LMDh and GTP classes are a hybrid system with rear-wheel drive and the use of a specified chassis from one out of four different manufacturers. For the 963, Porsche chose the Canadian manufacturer Multimatic Motorsports.
Strongly based on the Porsche 918, the racer is powered by a 4.6-liter V8 bi-turbo engine. The car is closely developed in collaboration with Team Penske and delivers a whopping 500kW (680 hp) with a fighting weight of just under 1000 kilograms.
In terms of design, Porsche traditionally drew on elements from the 911 (the current continuous rear light) and the formerly very successful racing cars of the 1980s.

I had the privilege of watching the 100th edition of the legendary endurance race, the 24 Hours of Le Mans, live on television in 2023 from the roof of the Porsche Experience Center at the Hockenheimring. There, the frustration and disappointment over the failure of the new hopefuls from Zuffenhausen were understandably high. Nevertheless, one could grant Ferrari the legendary and well-deserved victory for the anniversary.
I tell this story because the Le Mans-driven version of the 963 was displayed on that very roof of the PEC, and at that time, I posted a story expressing my deep desire for a model car of this unbelievably beautiful vehicle.
Now, my wish has come true, and I have the opportunity to realize the concept that instantly burned itself into my memory at the sight of this colorful flatfish.
Enjoy the new Porsche 963 in 1:18 scale by Spark.

Trivia.
The new Dune adaptations were a labor of love for director Denis Villeneuve and music genius Hans Zimmer. Both turned down lucrative alternatives to work on the Dune films. However, David Lynch, the director of the 1984 adaptation, wasn’t as enthusiastic about the material at the time and wanted nothing to do with the new adaptations which clearly showed in the early movie featuring icons such as Sting. But even before Lynch, in 1970, the Chilean megalomaniac Alejandro Jodorowsky wanted to realize a 12-hour adaptation of Dune with visions from H.R. Giger and Salvador Dali. The project failed for various obvious reasons, but from today’s perspective, it would have been quite interesting, as Giger, for example, only became known through Alien nine years later.
With this little Dune trivia (and yes, it’s a rabbit hole you can sink into for days, so it’s probably best not to start looking on video platforms to see how the entire Dune universe looks), I conclude this series inspired by the great desert classics.

Sunrise.
In the early days after Shelby had presented the Cobra 260 at the New York Auto Show, it was still equipped with a foldable fabric roof. The typical side windows were also missing, and a Shelby logo had been hand-applied to the beautiful nose and rear of the road vehicle.
But not just these details, but also the unpainted aluminum finish represents one of the undoubtedly beautiful peculiarities of this model.

Welcome to Arrakis.
Stunned and fascinated by the sheer beauty and aesthetics of the new Dune film, I came out of the cinema and knew I had to come up with a concept of a model car on Arrakis.
The most fitting seemed to me the polished aluminium version of the Cobra by Exoto as the Emperor probably would have driven too.
Completely spoiler-free, I hereby start a new trilogy and look forward to your most valued feedback.

From RS to GT.
In 1972, the 911 RS initiated the trend of making purebred race cars road-legal for the Stuttgart-based automaker. This designation remained until 1997, when the decision was made to use a different name for the first water-cooled 911 model. Thus, not only was there a shift in technology from air to water cooling, but there was also a change in the name, signaling the transformation at Porsche.
Since the 996, these race cars have been assigned no less legendary an abbreviation: GT!
It began with the GT3, added a even more powerful GT3RS, boosted the Turbo with the GT2, and brought the legendary GT1 for track racing onto the streets.
The latest model of the 911 GT3 in the 992 generation not only continues this trend but also raises the question of whether the potential electrification of the 911 with the upcoming model update might bring new paths for the GT line as well. I am certainly very curious to see how the legendary sports models from Zuffenhausen will continue to evolve.

Shark Blue
is a color introduced for the 992. It is quite aggressive, and harks back to earlier Porsche blues like Arrow, Mexico, and Miami Blue.
Having seen a lot of Porsches in this color I believe it is a stunning color that highlights sportiness and matches the GT3 extremely well.
What do you think of the specs of this GT3 Touring?

Wolf in Touring Dress.
The GT3 is a car for the racetrack. For regular roads, it’s actually too stiff and too powerful to really make use of its strength. With its imposing rear wing, it’s also too conspicuous for, say, driving to a business meeting or to the bakery without raising mixed feelings amongst spectators. While one could use a standard GT3 in everyday life, it’s usually more convenient to opt for a different vehicle.
For those who still need this sportiness in their daily lives and prefer not to stand out too much, the Touring package was created.
However, since it’s just a slightly tamer exterior, I’ve decided to send a GT3 Touring by Minichamps to the racetrack where she really belongs.
Do you prefer the first or second edition/picture of this post?

Differences.
CMC has now decided to release numerous new 250 GTO models. Since I already own several from the first edition, I found this model here particularly fascinating. The details that distinguish this version from the others are fantastic. Not only the interesting color coordination in the interior but also the mudguards and the black windshield wipers are details that CMC always places great value on. Now, one can argue whether there really should have been 20 versions - if I haven’t miscounted - but one can be pleased that all have been meticulously equipped according to the original vehicles. Thank you for this beauty!

History.
The original vehicle is a very special vehicle that made history in several ways: as the first right-hand drive GTO, as the vehicle for which the highest bid at an auction was made at a staggering 35 million euros, and as the 250 GTO that was successfully used in Le Mans, Brands Hatch, Goodwood, the Vienne GP, and the Austrian GP. I chose the Stirling Moss signature because the vehicle was originally supposed to be driven by him at Goodwood. However, after Moss’s retirement, Innes Ireland took to the start for the “Moss/Laystall Team” instead.

Innovations!
The NA2 generation NSX was brimming with innovations. It was not only the first vehicle to feature an all-aluminum semi-monocoque, saving nearly 200 kg compared to steel, but it also came with an aluminum suspension, titanium connecting rods, and forged pistons, enabling an extremely high redline of 8,300 rpm. Beyond these features, which were used for the first time outside the racetrack in a production vehicle, engineers also put a lot of thought into handling and visibility. The cockpit, for instance, was inspired by the F-16 fighter jet to allow for 360-degree visibility. It is positioned quite far forward of the mid-engine to significantly improve high-speed stability. The advantages of the mid-engine design are, of course, also to be emphasized.
To tune everything to perfection, Honda employed none other than Formula 1 World Champion and legend Ayrton Senna.
Since there is much more to tell about this fascinating vehicle, I will save some additional information for another model in my collection that will find its way into my photo set in the coming months.

NSX-R!
The designation of the most legendary version of the Honda NSX, known for its lightweight design and impressive performance. Produced exclusively for the Japanese market, the R was a further development of the NA2 NSX, focusing on weight reduction and increased body rigidity, partially achieved through the extensive use of carbon fiber. This model features a 3.2-liter V6 engine that delivers 290 hp at 7,300 rpm, accelerating the Japanese supercar from 0 to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds. Despite the official limit of 280 hp due to an agreement among Japanese automakers, it is speculated that the actual output of the NSX-R is even higher.

New Sportscar Experimental,
or briefly NS-X, is a timeless pioneer and milestone in automotive history. Not only its futuristic and streamlined design at the time, but also all the technical innovations were meant to make the NSX a contender against established European sports car manufacturers. The automotive press went even further, calling it ‚The best sports car ever built‘ (Motor Trend 1991).
In this new series I am happy to present you the beautiful composite and Diecast model by AUTOart.

Duck Tape.
Yes, when they’re young, ducks are yellow, so you might think all that’s missing is the tape for the beautiful yellow Mark four. But fun aside, despite Carroll Shelby’s protests, Ford engineers wanted to mount the engine compartment cover at the rear instead of in the driver’s cabin for easier access to the engine.
After a series of breakdowns and problems with his GT40 MK4, this ask had proven to be a mistake when, at 9:45 a.m., the cover opened at full speed, threatening to tear off completely.
So, McLaren promptly pulled into the pits, grabbed some Duck Tape, and secured the bodywork with copious amounts of it to keep going. The effort paid off, as the team finished a respectable fourth overall.
More information on the Mark 4 will follow based on another legendary Exoto model in a future series.

Finish Line Excess.
Those who know me understand that I have a penchant for model cars with unique stories. This model is just that. Not only does the original vehicle have an intriguing and unique history at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, but the model itself also clearly has much to tell.
Limited to just 399 units, Exoto’s Finish Line Excess version tells the story of a vehicle plagued by numerous small breakdowns and bodywork damage, struggling to hold together to finish the 24 hours.
Based on the previous year’s winner, the Mark 4 received a sleeker body, enabling it to achieve an impressive top speed of up to 320 km/h which should have its impact on this car. But more about this situation in the next post of the series.

One year later...
While in 1966 the legendary battle between Ford and Ferrari raged, with Ken Miles playing one of the main roles, New Zealander Bruce McLaren famously won with his compatriot Chris Amon in the closest finish in the history of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
In 1967, McLaren was set to compete again in a Ford GT40, only in the consistent evolution of the previous year’s winner, the Mark 4. Ironically, the tragic figure of 1966, Ken Miles, met his sad early end during a test drive with that very Mark 4.
This fantastic race car was to clinch the overall victory for Ford in 1967, driven by Dan Gurney and A.J. Foyt. From today onwards, I present to you another vehicle with an extremely dramatic history that happened to finish fourth in the same race: Bruce McLaren and Mark Donohue’s Number 2.
But this is not just any model, it’s the fantastic Finish Line Excess version by Exoto, limited to 399 units.

Majorette has once again developed a special model for the 2024 Toy Fair. Hence, this time it’s something truly extraordinary: the Majorette First Ever historical Formula car. Lots of extras.
RUF not only provides the already mentioned lasso for the best prairie suitability but also a shovel and a RUF luggage set (which is also an additional option for the model and can be placed as desired). The rustic cowboy look is completed inside, where aged cowboy leather is paired with saddlebag patterns, reviving the charm of the Wild West.
However, under the hood, RUF-typical 3.6-liter engines with up to 650 horsepower await. Sufficient power, therefore, to chase the Mustangs beyond the prairie.

History.
The history of off-road vehicles is characterized by necessity, a spirit of adventure, and the desire for versatile vehicles capable of tackling various terrains. Today, off-road vehicles are designed not only for off-road use but also for everyday road traffic, making them popular vehicle types worldwide.
RUF remains true to its history here, building on Porsche and equipping the vehicle not only with various gimmicks but also with enough power to win off-road competitions.

Saddle your horses.
With a car like the RUF Rodeo Concept, there is, of course, the risk of not easily finding your parking spot, which, due to the off-road capabilities of the Porsche, might be in the middle of nowhere. However, the Rodeo Concept offers countless other fascinating insights. The inspiration behind it was, not surprisingly, the Texan collector and Ruf enthusiast Phillip Sarofim. Captivated by his idea, Alois Ruf also drew inspiration from the Rodeo Drive Concours d’Elegance and Ralph Lauren’s 2011 Western Collection.
I find the lasso attached to the front on the rusty „horn“ to be a wonderful homage to rodeo sports.

In 1984,
Porsche clinched its first overall victory in the Paris Dakar Rally. In honor of this achievement, and likely due to the Tata Group holding the trademark for the name „Safari“ in many markets, the 992 Dakar was not named „Safari“ like it was originally anticipated. Although it hit the market in 2022, the anniversary seems to have been on Porsches radar.
There’s much more to share about the new Dakar, but perhaps I’ll dedicate a separate series to this off-roader on another occasion.
Next one up? Another off-road monster based on a Porsche.

Ground clearance!
The 911 Dakar builds on a long history of the Porsche 911 in rallying. One might think it’s a bad idea to take a rear-wheel-drive, even rear-heavy sports car through rough terrain, gravel tracks, and rivers. However, with its unique performance and robustness, Porsche achieved numerous significant titles in rally racing with the 911. The Dakar is intended not only to continue these successes but also to cater to the nostalgia of rally and Porsche fans, becoming a legendary new sports car for all purposes.
To cover all possible scenarios, the Dakar is already raised by 50 mm compared to its siblings with a sports suspension. If there are still difficulties with ground clearance, the suspension can be raised by an additional 30 mm at speeds up to 150 km/h. This proves helpful on both asphalt and extreme gravel tracks in the deserts and forests of the world.

Dakar Safari.
A long time ago, I already shared pictures of my now rare favorite Spark model: the 1978 Porsche 911 SC Safari in the unique version finished by Jochen Kieslich. When I saw the new Porsche Dakar in the same Martini livery, I instantly hoped that this vehicle would appear as a model exactly like that. And my dreams came true!
Of course I had to take them out into their natural habitat.
So at the beginning of the new year, I want to continue the series „Old versus New“ with these two, in my opinion, beautiful vehicles.
The old year brought many hurdles and tough times for me, so I am excited to start 2024 with a fresh mind, hunger for Modelcars, a lot of energy and I wish all of you nothing but the best, and may your hopes and wishes come true!

There are several ways of celebrating Christmas. Most parts of the world celebrate on the morning of the 25th.
Nowadays there is even a app to live track Santa. With the second Salzburg livery car, the Porsche 935, this would look pretty awesome.
Merry Christmas!

Carrera.
The 2.7 RS was the first Porsche that, inspired by the Carrera Panamericana, was allowed to bear the abbreviation „Carrera“ on the rear. Since then, it has become an integral part of the Porsche model range. While the latest GT3 RS does not feature the iconic lettering on the rear, it is still equally captivating.
Last year, I had the pleasure to do a photoshoot with an F-model from the same year as the 2.7 RS and a 992 Carrera. Passersby, happening upon the scene, either found the classic car or the new Porsche so much better that they showed no interest in the other model.
So I am interested to know: Do you feel the same way, or do you think both vehicles should be found in the same garage?
By the way, my upcoming posts will once again be dedicated to Porsches from various generations.
